Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Schenectady JCC. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the good condition and functionality of our facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality
  • Inspect alarm systems and schedule repairs as needed
  • Perform manual repairs, including fixing locks and replacing windows
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures, such as landscaping and painting
  • Maintain electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets
  • Maintain floors by stripping, waxing, and cleaning carpets
  • Repair and maintain walls, including cutting wood and hanging drywall
  • Set up and tear down for events
  • Perform snow removal

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
  • Certification in HVAC or CMRP is a plus
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable transportation and driver's license

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Good physical condition and strength
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Able to kneel, squat, and bend for extended periods of time
