Job Title: School Bus Driver
**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to transport students to and from school. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing a safe and positive environment for all passengers.
**Responsibilities:**
* Drive a school bus daily as scheduled by the Transportation Department
* Satisfactorily complete a prescribed pre-service instruction program within a reasonable period of time
* Complete any additional training in other areas to assist special needs students
* Take all precautions to avoid accidents
* Create a positive, pleasant, and safe environment for all passengers
* Responsible for cleaning inside and outside of assigned bus and for reporting mechanical defects upon detection to School Bus Driver Manager
* Keep records of operation of bus and submit required reports; compile and submit accident report information and reports prolonged traffic delays
* Attend safety meetings
* Maintain order among students aboard school bus and report cases of misbehavior to school officials
* Complete pre and post trip inspections of bus
* Ability to work overtime to complete required bus routes/trips
**Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements:**
The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
