Job Title: CT Technologist

East River Medical Imaging is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography scanners to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Position and immobilize patients on the examining table, using supportive devices to ensure precise positioning and following protocols specified by radiologists.
  • Administer contrast media intravenously and assist physicians/nurses with intravenous administration.
  • Enter data such as scan type, slice thickness, and scan time into the computer.
  • Start the CT scanner to scan designated anatomical areas of patients.
  • Monitor patient safety and comfort through the intercom system and observe patients through the control room window.
  • Evaluate radiographs, video tapes, and computer-generated information for technical quality.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
  • CT specialty training certification (ARRT-CT) and NYS RT License with Injection.
  • Active BLS training.

Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail. The employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
