Overview:
Supports nursing staff in providing comprehensive care through active participation in the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a compassionate and responsive demeanor, representing the Medical Center positively and conducting all activities in accordance with patient and customer rights.
Fosters positive interpersonal relationships with healthcare colleagues, as evidenced by managerial feedback and peer evaluations.
Observes patient conditions and accurately reports and documents information as required.Possesses strong communication skills with patients, families, and team members, and is capable of making informed suggestions regarding patient care needs.
Performs and records nursing care tasks as assigned, in line with established protocols.Exhibits knowledge and skills specific to the role of a nursing assistant in assigned areas (e.g., patient hygiene, vital signs, documentation of urine outputs, etc.).
Demonstrates awareness of age-related considerations in care and interventions for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Regularly executes job functions in compliance with hospital and departmental policies, including proper equipment usage and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsible for cleaning patient care equipment as directed. Obtains, stocks, and organizes patient care supplies as assigned. Identifies and reports any broken or malfunctioning equipment or required repairs within the unit.
Responds appropriately to emergency situations in accordance with established procedures.
Utilizes supplies and equipment efficiently, minimizing waste as observed by peers and supervisors.
Conducts daily audits, such as verifying medication refrigerator temperatures, and performs any other audits as assigned by nursing staff.
Practices effective time management, adhering to authorized break periods in accordance with policy. Maintains productivity levels as established for the department.
Completes assigned tasks and follows through with appropriate guidance.
Provides timely notification for any absences or tardiness in accordance with corporate policy.
Resolves conflicts with colleagues by adhering to established communication protocols, minimizing the need for managerial intervention.
Engages in quality assurance initiatives by attending unit meetings and fulfilling annual in-service training requirements, maintaining competency through ongoing education.
Qualifications:
Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
Basic Life Saving certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
No prior experience necessary for this role. Successful completion of a nursing assistant course during the initial weeks of orientation is required prior to patient care assignment.
