Job Summary

The Mission Control Coordinator will play a critical role in hospital operations, working closely with nursing and physician teams to ensure timely and coordinated patient movement. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of Mission Control, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining relationships with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Capacity Management: Analyze real-time capacity and throughput metrics to identify barriers to meeting timely placement and resolve patient flow issues as they arise.
  • Patient Flow Activities: Direct and control patient flow activities into, within, and out of Spectrum Health facilities, ensuring effective utilization of resources.
  • Strategic Planning: Evaluate, develop, and implement strategies to maximize system capacity management and throughput.
  • Team Support: Act as an escalation path for Mission Control functions and needs, offering support and guidance to team members within the Mission Control team.
  • Quality Improvement: Engage in quality improvement reviews to meet departmental and organizational metrics or initiatives.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: A degree in nursing is required for this position.
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in nursing, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Basic Life Support Certification: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
