Key Responsibilities:
This position is tasked with educating and assisting leadership in formulating strategies to address industry trends influenced by information solutions. The incumbent will engage with various organizational levels, from front-line staff to senior executives.
Collaboration:
The Clinical Informatics Specialist will work closely with executive leaders and system hospitals to share best practices, reporting methodologies, and ensure a cohesive approach to decision-making.
Project Management:
This role involves collaboration with IT and clinical leaders on long-term strategic initiatives that affect business operations, ensuring the success of projects.
Essential Functions:
- Act as a liaison between IT and hospital leadership to facilitate system enhancement decisions through a structured governance process.
- Lead Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and super users in design, usability, and system testing.
- Provide direct support to clinicians for Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other clinical systems during changes, implementations, or downtimes.
- Advise Senior Leadership on the role of information management in operations and emerging technology trends.
Quality and Safety:
- Support the development and adoption of standards for evidence-based practices and collaborate with educators to create necessary training or competencies.
- Ensure compliance of clinical systems design with regulatory and certification requirements in partnership with quality and regulatory experts.
Financial Considerations:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop business cases for new technologies, including cost-benefit analyses and budget planning related to technology.
Growth and Innovation:
- Analyze data, industry trends, and best practices to identify improvement opportunities and innovative strategies that drive organizational goals.
Professional Development:
- Take responsibility for personal professional growth by completing the My Development Plan (MDP).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration preferred
- Six years of nursing or related healthcare experience
- Two years of experience in informatics or IT systems management preferred
- Required: RN licensure in Texas or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated skills necessary for safe job performance, assessed through ongoing evaluations.
- Proficient in English communication, essential for patient and employee safety.
- Strong relationship-building skills and knowledge of workflows within the system.
- Ability to facilitate training for end users and manage programs effectively.
Work Environment:
- Uniform: Business professional attire required.
- On-call duties may be necessary during emergencies.
