About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager to join our Risk Management team at Watsco. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our risk management and insurance framework, bond and surety program, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Risk Management and Insurance: Front-facing management of Watsco's risk management framework and insurance programs, including leading insurance renewal processes, ensuring timely response to insurance-related requests, and managing claims.
  • Bond and Surety: Building, maintaining, and managing a surety bond program that cost-effectively addresses the company's risks and meets client and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Operational Risk Analysis: Conducting operational risk analyses and research areas of exposure to assess insurance needs, identifying opportunities to improve operational practices and processes, and developing operational risk management reporting and data analysis.
  • Insurance Market Dynamics: Monitoring insurance market dynamics and forecasting market trends by gathering, maintaining, analyzing, and presenting data, and making recommendations to the Director of Risk Management.
  • Technical Advice: Providing technical advice on insurance-related matters, loss prevention, and other risk management issues.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Building collaborative partnerships and leading through influence, leveraging strong critical thinking, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Requirements
  • Five to seven years of experience in corporate risk management or insurance brokerage, with an insurance company or large brokerage firm.
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Financial, Management, or related field.
  • Proven track record of identifying and mitigating corporate risk, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and ability to learn, adapt quickly, and apply critical thinking skills.
  • Strong math and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Sales Force, Share Point, BI, and excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a collaborative environment, reliable, and thorough with a commitment to accuracy.
