Job Summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Property Reutilization Technician to join our team in the Property Reutilization department. This role involves working with Government Personal Property (GPP) and requires a strong understanding of applicable guidance and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate excess GPP for associated hazards, including environmental, security, and export compliance risks.
  • Interpret and apply relevant guidance, such as Code of Federal Regulations, GSA, and DOE bulletins, to process excess GPP.
  • Perform property disposal and control activities, including destruction, demilitarization, or abandonment of GPP.
  • Identify property items eligible for sale and develop initial input for items being sold.
  • Report excess GPP to GSA and coordinate screening and removal of GPP for transfer or donation to other federal or state agencies.
  • Verify documentation and records related to redistribution or disposal of GPP and create associated packages for retention.
  • Coordinate with other staff, DOE, and others to facilitate the sale or transfer of GPP.
  • Process sales packages of surplus GPP to completion, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Ensure sales and referrals follow good merchandizing practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Create, process, and document all disposal or demilitarization in accordance with property procedures.
  • Verify selected GPP recipient or purchaser meets government regulations to receive excessed property.
  • Use manual and mechanical material handling tools to receive and store property until disposition.
  • Perform routine packaging of various items and prepare shipping documentation and labeling.
  • Create and update all GPP records promptly.
Qualifications
  • Level 3: High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Level 4: High school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience receiving and evaluating property with large-scale government or commercial warehouse.
  • Forklift training qualifications.
  • Maintain a current State of Idaho driver's license.
