Work Schedule: PRN Days
Role Summary: As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying patient care needs, providing valuable insights, recommending treatment options, and executing physical therapy plans. You will assess patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and by reviewing therapy histories.
Key Responsibilities of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):
- Evaluate patient conditions by analyzing physical therapist's assessments and test results.
- Document patient care activities by maintaining accurate records in patient files and departmental logs.
- Administer therapeutic interventions by guiding patients through manual exercises, assisting with physical activities, and utilizing supportive devices such as crutches and canes.
- Educate and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, growth and development, and promote health and wellness.
- Ensure continuity of care by creating and implementing effective patient management strategies.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to established protocols and infection control measures.
Qualifications for the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):
- Associate's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant License in the state of MO.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Preferred experience in long-term acute care or hospital settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and a collaborative team player.
- Proficient in computer usage and basic mathematical skills.
