About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Assistant to join our team at AdventHealth Carrollwood. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the surgical area, scrubbing and assisting the physician during procedures, and providing technical support to the RN in patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares and maintains the surgical area, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for procedures.
  • Scrubs and assists the physician during surgical procedures, utilizing appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis and closure of body planes.
  • Participates in volume replacement or auto-transfusion techniques as appropriate.
  • Assists the RN in technical functions related to patient care in the OR.
  • Trains and mentors other team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Completion of Certified Surgical Assisting Program or certification through the National Board of Surgical Technician and Surgical Assistant (NBSTA), American Board of Surgical Assistant (ABSA), or National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistant (NCCSA).
  • Certification as a First Assistant through one of the above-mentioned organizations.
  • American Heart BLS certification.
