Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to dispatch requests for prisoner transport to designated facilities.
  • Receive and document prisoner belongings from arresting officers, ensuring accurate logging.
  • Verify that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate prior to transport.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all transported individuals.
  • Engage in the preparation, processing, and distribution of various departmental documents.
  • Achieve proficiency in the operation and upkeep of transport vehicles and issued equipment.
  • Consult relevant manuals and resources to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent in a relevant field, along with one year of related experience or training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word, or similar software applications.
  • Possession of a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
  • SC LE II (Corrections Officer) Certification required at the time of hire or within six months of employment.
  • All candidates must have a clean criminal record and successfully complete a series of evaluations, including a polygraph test, drug screening, and background investigation.
  • Sworn and certain civilian roles may require additional assessments, including psychological evaluations and oral board interviews.
