Data Engineering Leader

As a key member of the Bank OZK team, you will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of data solutions to support the Bank's data strategy.
In this role, you will be a self-directed leader and problem solver who collaborates with business leaders and data engineering teams to deliver timely and reliable data solutions.
You will be relied on for your ingenuity and ability to turn business requirements into technological specifications.
As a thought leader in data engineering, you'll inspire your team to execute the Bank's vision while developing the skills of direct and indirect reporting relationships.
You will work independently, yet collaboratively, to achieve results on multiple concurrent priorities while providing customer service, solutioning, planning, and organization skills.
Essential Job Functions- Lead the development and maintenance of data model-based solutions as specified by engineering standards.
- Provide level of effort data development estimates while proactively managing and communicating scope or delivery changes.
- Provide leadership and continual improvements to data model architectures and technical data delivery practices.
- Develop data model structures, extract transform & load (ETL) services, reporting services, and enterprise data management strategies.
- Provide hands-on technical knowledge and capabilities to create and maintain analytical and visual reporting solutions.
- Plan and perform unit testing of data solutions to ensure developed product meets business requirements.
- Coordinate with data testing team to ensure smooth and well-documented releases.
- Proactively resolve bugs and data issues as identified by product management, project management, or governance functions.
- Assess functional requirements in a timely and efficient manner to create and maintain data solutions which fit within data engineering architecture patterns and standards.
- Actively engage in and learn the business processes of the supported lines of business.
- Ensure development approach minimizes risks while following data development control processes.
- Keep apprised of technological innovation and constantly improve through training while mentoring line of business or technology colleague data skills.
- May lead and supervise other related positions.
- Enthusiastically embrace, support, and model the Bank's values and mission.
- Ensure compliance with internal/external regulatory policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Knowledge of data development skills sets to create and maintain data solutions.
- Ability to maintain focus for sustained time periods to deliver on individual or multiple assigned tasks.
- Ability to perform in challenging environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues on standard, sensitive, and/or complex accounts.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and interact with all levels of employees.
- Ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Bachelor's degree in job-related field or commensurate work experience, required.
- 6+ years of experience in database development, data warehouse development, reporting, and/or data science experience, required.
- 4+ years of experience in reporting technologies such as Power BI, SSRS, Qliq, and/or Tableau, required.
- Experience in Jira, Azure Devops, or similar code development management environment, preferred.
- Experience with Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, preferred.
- Data development certification such as Snow Pro Certification or Microsoft SQL Server certification, preferred.
