Reporting to the Lead Mechanic, the Automotive Technician plays a crucial role in the routine maintenance and repair of all vehicles within the Superior Ambulance fleet. This position operates within a dynamic, high-volume private fleet, featuring a diverse array of vehicle makes and models.
ResponsibilitiesConducting thorough inspections, diagnosing issues, and repairing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Performing regular maintenance tasks to enhance vehicle performance and lifespan. Completing all necessary documentation related to vehicle repairs, including parts usage and repair durations. Executing additional maintenance tasks as required. Effectively communicating necessary repairs or tasks to the management team. Ensuring a safe and organized work environment. Undertaking other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Willingness to work on both gas and diesel engines as needed. Knowledge of basic electrical components, including switches, relays, and circuits. Must possess personal tools for the job. Proficiency in vehicle diagnostics and repairs is essential. Experience with emergency lighting and sirens is advantageous. Relevant certifications are considered valuable. Self-motivated and capable of working independently. Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow employees. Competence in understanding and following both oral and written instructions in English. Physical capability to routinely lift and carry items weighing up to 75 lbs and reach overhead.
Work Environment:
In the course of performing job duties, employees will frequently engage in verbal communication with others. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to various environmental elements, automotive fluids, and cleaning chemicals.
