Mental Health Recovery Coach

The Peer Specialist Advisor role at Mental Health Systems, Inc. involves providing personalized support and guidance to clients navigating mental health and substance use disorder challenges. You will draw upon your own experiences and educational background to build meaningful connections with clients, empowering them to take control of their recovery journey.
Main Responsibilities:
• Case Consultation: Collaborate with clients to develop tailored plans for recovery, addressing specific needs and goals.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support during critical moments, ensuring clients receive necessary resources and guidance.
• Discharge Placement: Facilitate smooth transitions into new environments, ensuring continuity of care.
• Individual and Group Work: Lead therapeutic sessions, focusing on skill development, coping strategies, and personal growth.
• Screening and Targeted Case Management: Conduct thorough assessments, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted interventions.

Requirements:
* Peer Specialist Certification required
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Personal experience with mental health or SUD recovery or family background, with willingness to disclose
* Valid California driver's license and current auto insurance
* Strong cultural competency understanding, with bilingualism preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred
Work Environment:
This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with clients, families, and colleagues. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are essential for field-based services. Regular attendance and punctuality are expected, with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
