Material Handler

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to assist in the day-to-day operations of receiving, shipping, and inventory data entry for government-procured materials and equipment.

• Assist in the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials, equipment, and other items from the warehouse and from suppliers.
• Implement attention to detail in following logistics procedures and record-keeping, inventories, and places incoming orders on shelves.
• Pick materials for internal distribution and use, monitor inventory, and communicate shortages.
• Provide feedback for process improvement and support a government warehouse located in Bluffdale, UT.

• High school diploma or GED and proven experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar position with 2+ years of experience in logistics.
• Warehouse Material Handlers must successfully complete all safety training courses as provided by the Company.
• Some physical strength is required, as you may often need to lift packages by hand, and must be able to lift 60Lbs.
• Stand or sit for long periods of time, in addition to delivering materials or tools to site locations to meet customer requirements as needed.
• Check incoming deliveries to make sure all ordered material meets quality standards, and perform accurate inventory and recording of ordered items.
• Pass a USG federal background investigation and drug test, and become eligible to achieve and maintain a security clearance.
• Valid driver's license, clean record, and ability to pass Dean/Fluor driving authorization requirements.
• Controlling operations of a forklift and pallet jack, with prior experience with safe forklift operations a plus.
• Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, CMMS, etc.
• Must be a well-organized and detail-oriented person in order to maintain warehouse and material in a clean and organized manner.
• Strong communication skills are a must.

• Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
• Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
• Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
• Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Possesses good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
• May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
• Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
• Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
• See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
