We are seeking a Dietitian II to join our team and utilize their expertise to support vulnerable populations in underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expertise in child nutrition according to Head Start Performance Standards and prenatal nutrition.
Consult with families and staff on best practices in breastfeeding, infant and toddler nutrition, prenatal, and family nutrition.
Work closely with the Head Services Manager for meal service at playgroups and family child care, center, and CACFP regulations, trainings for parents and staff, and meeting federal guidelines.
This position will also work at our other locations (1-2 days per week) in Santa Monica and Hawthorne.
Compensation:
$81,348 - $107,302 Annual
Requirements:
Registered Dietitian status with the American Dietetic Association.
Knowledge of CACFP and Head Start Regulations.
Ability to recognize problem areas in health, nutrition, and development.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff, children, parents, and other agencies.
Ability to exercise professional judgment in evaluating before making decisions.
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of people of various educational and socio-economic backgrounds.
Organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and the ability to function efficiently and independently to meet goals and objectives.
Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
Experience conducting staff and family nutrition training on infant and toddler feeding, food allergies and safety, and prenatal nutrition.
Knowledge on health & safety practices in ECE childcare settings.
Preferred:
Bilingual in Spanish.
Experience working with an Early Head Start or another program serving young children.
Ability and willingness to travel to our other locations within LA County.
