Job Summary

Bryan Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Care Specialist to join our team. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality cardiovascular care services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Manage Patients: Evaluate patients' medical history, perform physical examinations, and establish presumptive diagnoses, which will be countersigned by the responsible physician.
  • Document Patient Care: Make complete chart entries on patient transactions, write orders, and record progress notes, which will be reviewed and countersigned by the responsible physician within 24 hours.
  • Provide Consultative Services: Offer consultative visits with patients and their families, serve as a resource person to the staff and physician, and recommend changes in the plan of care to facilitate optimum patient outcomes.
  • Interpret and Integrate Data: Synthesize data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, alert the physician to test results requiring their attention, and order laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed.
  • Participate in Emergency Situations: Participate in the management of ICU, medical, and surgical emergencies, utilizing ACLS protocol, and perform independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergencies.
  • Monitor and Continuity of Care: Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits, and maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Master of Science degree in Nursing with current Advance Practice Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska required. Certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or other related specialty area required, OR, Master of Science in Physician Assistant & certification through AAPA and current State of Nebraska Physician Assistant license required. Certification with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for prescriptive authority required. Minimum of three (3) years clinical practice experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Maintains clinical competency as required for the unit, including but not limited to age-specific competencies relative to patient's growth and developmental needs, annual skill competency verification, and mandatory education and competencies. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions, local, state, and federal regulations related to nursing and medical services within practice area, care of the critical and complex patient, and their medications possible side effects on patients with co-morbidities.
