About the Role:The Preschool Mentor Coach will provide on-site coaching and support to Early Head Start and Head Start teachers and assistants, helping them to improve their teaching practices and enhance the learning environment for young children.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers and assistants on best practices in early childhood education.
- Develop and implement coaching plans to support teachers in improving their instructional skills and child outcomes.
- Collaborate with teachers and assistants to develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Provide technical assistance to teachers and assistants on topics such as classroom management, child assessment, and cultural responsiveness.
- Participate in the development and implementation of program goals and objectives, and contribute to the improvement of program quality.
- Baccalaureate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Social or Behavioral Science, Education, or a related field.
- At least 18 semester hours in Early Childhood Education.
- Experience in teaching preschool or kindergarten age children, with at least two years of supervisory experience.
- Previous Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR, and successful completion of a Level II background screening and drug screening.
