Job Overview

This role involves the cleaning, upkeep, and restoration of both carpeted and hard floor surfaces. Additional responsibilities may include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
  • Execute all floor cleaning and maintenance tasks using tools and procedures provided by ServiceMaster.
  • Responsibilities encompass: sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, stripping, waxing, buffing, moving furniture, disinfecting floors with sanitizers, spot cleaning, and cleaning elevators and stairways.
  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of floor maintenance techniques, including but not limited to stripping and waxing, as well as recognizing various flooring types.
  • Capability to operate diverse floor cleaning equipment and machinery.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear as required.
  • Responsible for securing and unlocking facilities, as well as managing the security system.
  • Preferred experience of 1-2 years in floor care; however, not mandatory.
  • On-the-job training will be provided for candidates demonstrating a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
  • Experience in a professional janitorial or floor care setting, such as an office complex, hotel, hospital, or educational institution, is advantageous.
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment are essential.
  • Foster a positive work atmosphere with a friendly demeanor and contribute to team efforts, including punctuality and adherence to uniform standards.
  • Show respect and understanding towards colleagues and clients.
  • Proficiency in English communication is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant physical activity (up to 100%) including standing, walking, pushing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to interpret cleaning instructions.
  • Ability to distinguish between various cleaning products and their applications.
