Laboratory Operations Manager

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary for this position is estimated to be between $83,200 and $93,600 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek and assuming an hourly rate of $40.00 - $45.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities- Lab Management: You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all procedures are carried out with precision and accuracy. This includes performing specialized and complex diagnostic procedures, preparing reagents, maintaining inventory, and interpreting clinical test results.
- Technical Knowledge: You will stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and computer functions associated with testing and workflow management. Additionally, you may conduct research and development of new or updated technologies, providing written evaluations to your supervisor.
- Leadership: As a senior medical technologist, you will assist in training new and existing employees on new procedures and instrumentation. You will also act as a technical consultant to technologists, technicians, and/or students rotating through your area.
- A Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Sciences) and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York State Department of Education for a NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- 4+ years of relevant Medical Technology Laboratory experience required.
- Previous experience in a laboratory supervisory or leadership position is preferred.
- You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
