Overview

Shallowford Animal Hospital Inc. is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to join their team as a Veterinary Receptionist. This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive compensation package and benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and uphold the core values and mission statement of the hospital.
  • Greet clients and pets with a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Answer phones promptly and professionally, providing knowledgeable advice on animal care and veterinary services.
  • Schedule appointments and surgeries, making confirmation calls as needed.
  • Enter accurate charges, explain invoices, and collect payment.
  • Verify client eligibility and check medical records for accuracy.
  • Fill prescriptions and provide routine administration instructions.
  • Advise clients on flea/tick preventatives, heartworm preventatives, and other retail items.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to the hospital's core values.
  • Computer knowledge, including keyboarding and use of communication tools.
  • Working knowledge of veterinary terminology.
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and display tact and respect with clients and team members.
