As the Pharmacy Informatics Director at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide executive leadership and direction for the use of technology and informatics to meet the clinical and business goals of KP National Pharmacy Operations.
This position is responsible for overseeing pharmacy applications that drive the medication management process, including Enterprise Pharmacy Information Management System (ePIMS), Ascend/Wizard, Inpatient/Clinic Pharmacy System (Willow), Oncology (Beacon), Pharmacy POS, and KPH.
You will work closely with IT and Regional leadership to support local automation and interfaces necessary to integral clinical systems.
This leader will represent pharmacy at various national and regional meetings to present and review national pharmacy information strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic planning, executive leadership, and direction for informatics and technology to support KP National Pharmacy.
- Develop and justify innovative systems solutions to address Pharmacy and organizational goals of improving quality and service while attaining cost efficiencies.
- Manage the requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, and design of all Pharmacy automated systems and technologies.
- Serve as an expert in high-level problem resolution of Pharmacy Information Technology related issues.
- Justify and manage an information systems budget.
- Establish and oversee a department structure that provides a service-delivery organization focused on member, local market, Medical Group, and Pharmacy customers.
- Develop, coach, and manage a staff dedicated to providing expertise and excellent customer service.
- Collaborate and coordinate with National and Divisional Information Technology, Medical Group, Pharmacy Operations, Compliance, Pharmacy VPs, Stakeholders, and Local Market leadership to communicate and integrate information technology directions, strategies, and plans.
Requirements:
- Minimum seven (7) years of leadership experience in information technology and healthcare administration.
- Minimum five (5) years progressive management experience in a healthcare environment with demonstrated ability to effectively manage large, complex initiatives.
- Degree in Pharmacy required.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, communicate, influence, and work effectively with senior leadership and broad cross-section of IT and business leadership from broad range of functional areas.
- Demonstrated competency in the areas of change management, influence, and negotiation skills.
- A proven track record of success in leading successful, large-scale business transformation initiatives and large technology projects.
- Ability to work in Labor-management partnership environment.
