We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and technical support in the Nuclear Medicine department.
Key Responsibilities- Verify Patient Information: Confirm patient identity and obtain necessary consents prior to procedures.
- Assist with Procedures: Support supervising physicians with all necessary supplies and equipment during procedures.
- Maintain Equipment: Clean and maintain all equipment in accordance with decontamination procedures.
- Record Patient Data: Accurately and completely record patient information in both paper and electronic formats.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Maintain an adequate level of patient safety and sensitivity during emergency care.
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to organization-wide and unit-specific safety, security, and infection control standards.
- Assay Radiopharmaceuticals: Verify proper radiopharmaceuticals and record activity amounts and times of assay on patient dose slips.
- Position Patients: Assist patients onto and off imaging tables, chairs, or stools using proper body mechanics and considering age-specific needs.
- Attend Training: Participate in appropriate orientation and training courses to maintain competency.
- Utilize Aseptic Technique: Use aseptic technique for injected radiopharmaceuticals administered to patients.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent and graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology accredited program.
- Certification and Licensing: NMTCB or ARRT-N registered, valid State of Florida License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, and valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator.
- Experience: One year of relevant experience required.
