About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Capital Procurement to join our team at Tenneco. As a key member of our procurement organization, you will be responsible for managing global and/or regional commodity strategies, identifying and engaging with internal stakeholders to capture category requirements, and ensuring supplier qualification and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive commodity strategies that exceed both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Accountable for execution of sourcing projects, including RFx, continuous improvement, consolidation, etc.
  • Define negotiations strategy, including supplier profiles, commercial negotiations targets, defining switching costs, and building Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Develop and implement standard Capital and Tooling processes, driving utilization of BOS standard work.
  • Align with SBU stakeholders to incorporate commodity strategies into NPD process while gaining leadership support.
  • Identify and partner with AME, Engineering & Procurement stakeholders to ensure delivery of Capital and Tooling programs, including support of annual AOP process.
  • Accountable for commercial negotiations and supplier selections within commodities.
  • Responsible for management of strategic suppliers through formal Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process to improve supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, productivity, and innovation.
  • Engage with NPD Procurement teams to support new product development (NPD) and new technology introduction (NTI), through preferred supplier and SRM programs.
  • Accountable for monitoring supplier risk across all responsible commodities (Capital & Tooling) while developing and maintaining detailed mitigation plans for critical tools and at-risk suppliers.
  • Present comprehensive commodity strategies during Commodity Reviews (QCR).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations.
  • 3+ years of experience in tooling management, preferably with an equipment provider in the industrial manufacturing segment.
  • Demonstrated competence in assessment, negotiation, and selection of suppliers.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience coordinating, facilitating discussions, consultation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Professional communication, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Key Competencies:

  • Supply Chain Acumen – Oversees development and execution of strategies/playbooks for assigned capital & tooling categories, drives utilization of common BOS tools & processes to achieve optimal IR results that are Quality, Delivery, Price, and Service balanced and corporate/governmental compliant.
  • Project Management – Reviews and approves teams' project plans, oversees project execution, balances projects between short and long-term focus, secures alignment with cross-functional partners. Manage prioritization of team resources.
  • Global Business Thinking/Strategizing – Demonstrates deep global knowledge of suppliers, industry trends, emerging markets, and technology, builds this knowledge into strategies/playbooks, develops teams' capabilities & talent.
  • Problem Solving – Identifies/anticipates potential problems, supports root cause analysis, evaluates robustness of corrective action plan, and oversees plan implementation.
  • Relationship Management – Creates collaborative environment with cross-functional partners, assures regular/appropriate two-way communication flow, builds/maintains relationship with industry peers and suppliers.
