The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Tax Examiner 1. This position involves examining and processing Personal Income Tax returns and Property Tax, Rent Rebate claims in accordance with state tax laws, rules, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in an on-the-job training program to develop technical knowledge, competence, and skill in reviewing and examining tax returns and associated documents.
- Mathematically verify schedules for correctness and completeness, and examine returns and claims for potential risks of fraudulent activity and/or identity theft.
- Make determinations, based on the review of filing history and other data collected, if information filed is fraudulent.
- Two years of general office work experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework opportunities available.
