Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is seeking a highly skilled Audio/Visual Forensic Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our forensic analysis unit, you will be responsible for examining, extracting, clarifying, and evaluating audio and video media for use in criminal or administrative investigations and court proceedings.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform forensic examination, extraction, clarification, and evaluation of audio and video media.
  • Work under general supervision to analyze digital evidence and provide expert testimony in court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to ensure the integrity and accuracy of forensic analysis.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in forensic audio and video analysis techniques and tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in forensic science and technology.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as forensic science, computer science, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in audio/video forensics and/or computer programming, computer systems analysis, criminal investigations, intelligence analysis, or closely related experience.
  • Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) certification or an equivalent certification from another organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:

The work is primarily performed in an office setting. May be required to carry up to 40 pounds. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Arizona driver license. Travel (in and out of state) may be required to perform certain work functions.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must have or obtain Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Forensic Video Technician certification within eighteen months (1.5 years) of hire.
  • Must have or obtain Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Video Analyst certification within five (5) years of hire.
  • Must be able to respond to crime scenes and work varying, irregular hours, or rotating shifts to include weekends, holidays, callouts, and overtime.
