About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest standard of quality and patient safety.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of the surgical team, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative care, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a surgical technology program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a surgical setting, with a strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
