Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Coordinator for Senior Services to join our team at the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing educational, social, recreational, health-promoting, and inspirational programming for seniors at two south Philadelphia locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate activities for seniors in the Wellness Center, located at St. John Neumann Place II and at St. Edmond Senior Community Center.
  • Facilitate participant meetings and work with other CHCS personnel to address the needs and interests of center participants.
  • Meet service objectives related to Center programming at both locations and manage program budgets.
  • Prepare monthly program calendars, flyers, and other outreach materials to promote the Wellness Center and SESC.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least two years of additional education or experience in a related field or position (e.g., gerontology, human/social services, event planning).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Ability to facilitate groups and function as part of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with solid attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully deliver culturally responsive services.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively and independently, with a high degree of tact, discretion, and professionalism.
Physical Requirements
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during work hours.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel between work sites (3/4 mile) during the course of some workdays.
