Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nursing Clinical Educator to join our team at Tampa General Hospital. As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and managing education projects that align with our hospital's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver education/training programs to facilitate organizational change and improve human performance.
  • Measure and evaluate the impact of education initiatives and contribute to their improvement.
  • Coordinate unit-orientation, preceptor selection, and orientee assessments.
  • Facilitate completion of competency-based orientation tools and unit/department level competencies.
  • Develop and support preceptor development and mandatory education initiatives.
  • Provide bedside re-education as needed and facilitate student activities on the unit.
  • Serve as liaison to faculty for unit-based training and assist with clinical ladder activities.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives on an ongoing basis.
Clinical Duties

As a Nursing Clinical Educator, you will also be responsible for delivering nursing care to patients a minimum of eight (8) hours per month, exercising independent judgment and advanced clinical skills. You will plan and implement nursing care, document nursing assessments, identify and report situations requiring intervention, formulate and communicate goals and directed plan of care, and assure patient's rights.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida and three years related work experience required.
  • MSN or Certification in specialty approved for the ANCC Magnet requirement.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and distinctly.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Working Conditions

This position involves working primarily in classroom and/or patient settings, interacting with patients, team members, physicians, family members, and visitors. Lifting, bending, stooping, and exposure to bodily fluids are involved. This position has been evaluated as a Level 1 in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) definition of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
