Job Summary

Vetio Animal Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Compounding Associate to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will play a vital role in supporting the compounding function through various processes, including weighing, handling, charging materials, cleaning equipment, transferring batches, and other tasks assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the compounding and mixing of ingestible bulk product, performing other required departmental duties as needed.
  • Follow established Manufacturing Instructions, SOPs, and GMPs to assist compounders in tending mixing tanks, compounding kettles, various mills, and mixers that mix, compound, and mill raw materials used in the manufacture of cosmetic/ingestible bulk products.
  • Transfer raw materials from staging areas or compounding areas, and transfer bulk product from compounding to storage areas.
  • Assist in weighing out specified types and quantities of liquid or solid raw ingredients via automated dispensing systems or manual scales, according to formula.
  • Transfer completed batches via pump or gravity drop into proper containers for movement to storage or other production departments.
  • Proactively question anomalies and utilize opportunities for additional understanding of problem resolution.
  • Extract bulk samples for laboratory analysis, and may assist in the handling, dispensing, and sampling of hazardous raw materials.
  • Assist in the daily cleaning/sanitization of kettles, mixers, pumps, utensils, and compounding rooms.
  • Perform daily environmental monitoring according to schedule and SOP.
  • May assist in the weighing/mixing of sanitizing agents.
  • Complete required batch documentation records.
  • Assemble and disassemble pumps, mills, kettles, etc.
  • Adhere to all applicable procedures, cGMPs, company policies, and all other quality or regulatory requirements (OSHA, DEA, FDA, EMEA, ANVISA, HS&E, etc.). Ensure all work is performed in a safe, effective manner, and in compliance with the appropriate industry and regulatory standards, and Departmental, Plant, and Corporate quality and Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) goals.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred or at least three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read and write legibly on FDA-regulated documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
