Host/Hostess - ETA

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Host/Hostess to join our team at Loews Chicago Hotel. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests, providing exceptional service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Supervise restaurant activities in the absence of the Manager
* Control the reservation book, accept reservations, and enter them accurately into the record
* Maintain guest history files and use information to enhance repeat guests' experience
* Assign work stations and pre-meal side work, inspect the dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks prior to the start of the meal period
* Maintain guest records to record arrival, cover count, seat assignment, turnover, and availability
* Inspect menus to ensure cleanliness and acceptability
* Greet guests in a polite and professional manner
* Determine guest needs, verify table availability, assign an appropriate table for seating
* Guide guests to the appropriate table
* Assist guests with seating and present the menu
* Ensure removal of unnecessary place settings at occupied tables
* Notify the server of guest seating and communicate any special needs or requests
* Inspect the dining room appearance constantly, assign correction of deficiencies to the appropriate team member
* Monitor dining room activity, assist Servers and Assistants as needed to ensure performance to standard
* Assign post-meal side work, inspect the dining room and service areas to ensure completion of all tasks

**Requirements**

* Promote and apply teamwork skills at all times
* Notify the appropriate individual promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance
* Be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow team members
* Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
* Comply with required safety regulations and procedures
* Attend appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
* Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
* Comply with hotel standards, policies, and rules
* Recycle whenever possible
* Remain current with hotel information and changes
* Comply with hotel uniform and grooming standards
