About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled WebKit Performance Optimization Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our WebKit Performance team, you will play a critical role in optimizing the performance of our WebKit framework, which is the system framework for rendering web content on Apple platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Optimization: Investigate and optimize performance bottlenecks in the WebKit engine, ensuring seamless and efficient rendering of web content on Apple devices.
  • Performance Analysis and Benchmarking: Develop and maintain performance benchmarks for key web technologies, identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive enhancements.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with developers on the Open Source WebKit project, sharing knowledge and best practices to drive performance improvements across the board.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or work experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience with performance analysis and optimization, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Skills: Excellent debugging, critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills, with a strong understanding of software development principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Skills: Experience with debugging and profiling tools, C, C++, and Objective-C, Web technologies (HTML, CSS, DOM, JavaScript, SVG), UIKit and AppKit, and systems programming and inter-process communication.

  • Competitive Compensation: Base pay within a range of $115,731 to $204,000 annualized, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
