Job Title: GIS Analyst Programmer

Job Description:

The client is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst Programmer to assist with the creation, update, and maintenance of foundational datasets within the client GIS program. This includes Vector Property Map and Master Address Repository datasets.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience in GIS technologies related to data production, including experience with Esri GIS tools, such as ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online. They will also have experience in producing high-quality data products complete with metadata, as well as quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) of data products.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of GIS techniques, including map production, geometry editing, geocoding, and data management. They will also have experience with SQL database queries and geospatial relationship queries, as well as creating effective and aesthetically sound cartographic outputs.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support enterprise complex projects.
  • Interface with other offices, consult with, and inform user departments on system requirements, and resolve problems and operating difficulties for the current and future enhancements to District's system.
  • Participate in problem resolution related to system design and implementation review.
  • Recommend approval of functional and technical design documents and implementation of systems, program enhancements, and updates of applications.
  • Analyze and evaluate system changes to determine feasibility, alternative solutions, and back-up procedures.
  • Work on the development of new systems, as well as upgrades and enhancements to existing systems, and ensure systems are in compliance with approved standards.
  • Develop complex programs and reports in database query language.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certified GIS Professional (GISP) preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 6 years of work experience and degree or equivalent.
