Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing direct care and support to our senior members. As a CNA, you will work under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or their designated nursing supervisor to ensure the highest level of care and customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine daily nursing direct care to assigned members, including assistance with daily hygiene, meals, and mobility.
  • Participate in the admission and discharge processes, ensuring a smooth transition for our members.
  • Ensure compliance with all current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing longer-term care facilities.
  • Actively participate in emergency preparedness programs and respond accordingly.
  • Report all complaints and grievances made by members to the appropriate person.
  • Communicate effectively with members, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a high level of care and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with lifting, repositioning, and transporting members as needed.
  • Perform services as assigned, including obtaining sputum, urine, and other specimens, taking and recording vital signs and weights, and providing palliative care.
  • Ensure that member rooms are clean, sanitary, and safe, making beds, changing bed linens, and placing extra covers on beds as requested.
  • Adhere to all aspects of the Carroll Center's written Member Rights program.
  • Continuously follow company procedures to prevent infectious disease, proper hand washing techniques, and safe use of work tools and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Active certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Florida.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six (6) months proven experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in skilled nursing, acute care, or assisted living preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with older adults and with memory-impaired individuals and groups.
  • Must be empathetic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
