Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Rigger Helper to join our team for a project in Sumter, SC. As a Rigger Helper, you will assist experienced riggers in the safe and efficient movement of heavy equipment and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist riggers in the positioning of chain falls, hoists, blocks, rope, jacks, chains, and rigging equipment as directed.
  • Select and prepare cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves for use in lifting and moving heavy loads.
  • Inspect work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communicate with riggers and other team members to coordinate lifting and moving operations.
  • Secure equipment and materials for transport and storage.
  • Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to lift and carry objects of varying weights.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:

  • Must be able to safely access all areas of the work site, including rooftops and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in awkward body positions.
