Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain diesel and gas engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with fuel, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Perform inspections and preventative services for vehicles
  • Enter work orders into a computer system
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or completion of a diesel mechanic vocational program
  • 2-3 years of journey-level mechanical work experience
  • Experience repairing transit, bus, or over-the-road coach vehicles preferred
  • Basic computer skills to complete work orders
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required for driving company vehicles
  • Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial License Permit (CLP) and Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain reliable attendance

  • Competitive hourly rate of $41-$45 per hour, depending on experience
  • $5,000 signing bonus, with $2,500 paid after a probation period and an additional $2,500 after one year
  • Relocation reimbursement available for candidates outside the Pierce/King/Thurston county area, up to $2,500
