Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to residents in our skilled nursing setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for observing and implementing nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your primary focus will be on ensuring continuity of care between shifts, providing direct care, and supervising the care given by Certified Nursing Assistants and supportive staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe residents on admission and daily, documenting changes and nursing needs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Prescribe appropriate nursing actions based on resident assessments and conditions.
- Assess and reassess pain, utilizing effective pain management techniques and educating residents and families accordingly.
- Document changes in residents' conditions and nursing care on progress notes and care plans.
- Perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) and interpret results, taking appropriate action.
- Administer medications and adhere to the five medication rights to minimize errors.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You should also be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
