Job Title: General Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our team at Fairfield Inn St. Clairsville. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving hotel profitability, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the hotel's operations, including revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct daily tours of operating departments, making adjustments as needed, and hold weekly staff meetings to review sales and operations efforts.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate-directed programs in a timely manner.
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers, M.I.D.'s, and available supervisors.
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate-sponsored training programs.
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.
  • Maintain direct contact with and monitor the development of management trainees.
  • Adhere to all Highgate Hotel policies and procedures and train new managers to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee and assist in the Highgate Hotel budget process as required.
  • Ensure that training in service standards is taking place in each department using the steps to effective training according to Highgate Hotel standards.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field, or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience, or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
