CNC Machinist - Milling Specialist

Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist - Milling Specialist to join our team in Auburn, CA. As a CNC Machinist - Milling Specialist, you will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce machined parts, maintaining quality and safety standards, and keeping records of equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parameters
  • Validate material used
  • Maintain specifications; troubleshoot, detect malfunctions, and take appropriate actions
  • Listen to machining operations to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problems
  • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures, and knowledge of GDT standards
  • Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further steps
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On-Time Delivery (OTD)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4 years of experience machining with CNC mills and/or lathes
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of various inspection equipment, safety procedures, and regulations
  • Skills/Abilities: Ability to work quickly and efficiently through process improvement structures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of CNC G Code
  • Understanding of basic Math, Geometry, and Trigonometry
  • Excellent teamwork skills

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
