Position Overview

At Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care in our 52-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation facility. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in an interdisciplinary team focused on the recovery of patients in the San Diego region. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Monitor and communicate patient progress to supervisors and team members; assist with scheduling and daily record-keeping.
  • Document patient care in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Educate patients' families and nursing staff on follow-up care strategies.
  • Ensure that therapy equipment and workspaces are maintained in a safe and hygienic condition.
  • Adhere to the organization's Code of Conduct and applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology from ASHA.
  • At least six months of experience in speech therapy, particularly with adult and geriatric populations.
  • Valid and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Compensation: $55 per hour. While this is the expected pay range, certain circumstances may allow for variations.
