About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at DispatchHealth Imaging. As a Mobile Echo Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic echocardiographic scans for physician diagnosis utilizing portable echocardiography equipment and appropriate technical knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to various service locations in the local community to perform echocardiography studies for patients.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and protocols while performing echo exams.
  • Demonstrate competence in performance of echocardiographic studies based on established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform echocardiograph studies considering the age-specific physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of the patient.
  • Demonstrate understanding of cardiac disease processes to obtain complete acquisition of images for clinical diagnosis by the interpreting cardiologist.
  • Collect or verify all required order documentation and patient information prior to procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging exams.
  • Operate portable ultrasonic equipment with cardiac capabilities at patient's bedside or other designated exam settings.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologist or requesting physician.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
  • Transmit images and all required associated documentation to cardiologist in a timely manner according to company protocols.
  • Complete all forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed according to standard protocols.
  • Upload all required documents into company systems according to company protocols.
  • Maintain equipment, including cleaning and disinfecting according to company procedures.
  • Take good care of vehicle and ensure it is well stocked with necessary supplies prior to each shift.
  • Operate and behave in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Orient new staff and train students, if requested.
  • Assist with order taking, validation of studies, communication with reading cardiologists, customer call-backs, and other administrative and customer support functions as directed.
  • Act professionally and exhibit courtesy, friendliness, and a positive attitude when interacting with coworkers, patients, patient's family, client staff, physicians, and others.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Meet all state-specific and federal requirements for training, education, competency, certification, and state license to perform.
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Have a working knowledge of other departmental procedures and equipment.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Have basic computer skills to perform date entry.
  • Be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work a varied schedule that may require evenings, holidays, and weekends.
