Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Optical Specialist to provide exceptional patient experiences through the selection of eyewear, accurate measurements, ordering, and fitting of eyewear to fulfill all of their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen, providing a voice for peers.
  • Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and patient requirements.
  • Explore patient needs and priorities by asking open-ended questions.
  • Assist peers with difficult or complex areas of product needs and prescriptions.
  • Utilize practice tools and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Anticipate problems, explore underlying reasons, and strive to develop long-term solutions to problems and ensure patients are satisfied and expectations are exceeded.
Requirements:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Active state optical licensure; must maintain license.
  • Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Sales skills - ability to use and carry a tablet.
  • Embraces new technology and change.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous eyecare and/or customer service experience.
  • Familiarity with technology, such as point-of-sale, patient record systems, and other software applications.
Compensation and Benefits:

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
