Job Title: Field Engineer

At Gray Construction, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team. As a Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Site Manager in layout of building items, including structural, civil, process, and architectural items.
  • Assist in procurement of construction materials and monitor deliveries.
  • Perform on-site material placed surveys and ensure accurate quantities are reported.
  • Assist in scheduling construction activities and consolidate reports as requested by the Site Manager.
  • Develop bid lists, issue documents for procurement purposes, and review bids as directed by the Site Manager.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining high safety and QA/QC standards.
  • Conduct safety meetings and review shop drawings and submittals.
  • Manage the jobsite in the absence of the Site Manager and perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) audits.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and a minimum of 2 years of related construction experience, or 4+ years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets, and smartphones.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a passion for collaboration and professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear.

They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.

Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

The team member is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.

The team member is occasionally exposed to high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.

The noise level is generally moderate to loud.

Overtime may be required. Some travel may be required.
