Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and pursue ambitious yet achievable procurement and supply chain goals, leading the organization towards these objectives.
  • Formulate, secure buy-in for, and oversee the execution of strategic plans to ensure seamless integration and attainment of desired outcomes.
  • Implement and refine procurement best practices, including specifications, negotiation tactics, logistics, quality assurance, and food safety, to secure competitive pricing.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while exploring new partnerships to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Empower team members by delegating responsibilities and holding them accountable for achieving defined objectives.
  • Devise a comprehensive plan to meet purchasing, food quality, and safety targets.
  • Regularly assess departmental performance against established standards and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Evaluate current team capabilities, identify strengths and weaknesses, and develop training plans to enhance performance.
  • Oversee product specifications across various categories, including food, packaging, small-wares, and equipment.
  • Enhance and sustain an effective Quality Management and Food Safety program.

Qualifications and Core Competencies:

  • Over 10 years of relevant purchasing experience, with a deep understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain integration.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing product specifications for food, equipment, and small-wares.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management and Food Safety Systems, including GFSI standards and FDA qualifications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of inventory control, product development, and cross-functional collaboration within an organization.
  • A diverse background in purchasing, supply chain management, leadership, and team development, particularly in food-related sectors.
  • Ability to strategize from the perspective of buying groups or decentralized control systems, optimizing purchasing power and product availability.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a focus on strategic sourcing rather than mere purchasing.
