INFORMATION SECURITY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

System One is seeking qualified candidates for two contract positions as Information Security Systems Specialists to support the health and finance sector of a prominent systems integrator. The selected individuals will be responsible for managing the collection, storage, and analysis of cyber security data to enhance a Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program. Key responsibilities include organizing data points into structured categories, formatting information for integration with other cyber security tools, evaluating data against existing company processes, and preparing reports that outline business forecasts or recommendations.

This role operates in a hybrid model, requiring on-site presence.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust clearance.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Cyber Security risk assessments, Splunk, and Xacta.IO.

Contract Duration: 12 months+ with strong potential for contract-to-hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, analyze, and identify cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision.
  • Assist in integrated, dynamic cyber defense initiatives and maintain security toolsets to support ongoing monitoring and authorization programs.
  • Establish a framework for measuring and quantifying cyber risk in the marketplace.
  • Evaluate security requirements by analyzing business strategies, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability assessments, and preparing cost estimates.
  • Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies, installing and calibrating equipment and software, and providing technical support.
  • Verify security systems through the development and implementation of test scripts.
  • Maintain security by ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; and developing training programs.
  • Design, develop, implement, and integrate DoD IA architectures and systems for use within computing and network environments.
  • Ensure that the architecture and design of operational systems are functional and secure.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4-6 years of experience in tagging data.
  • 4-6 years of experience with data source sensor tools for data collection.
  • 4-6 years of experience in building data pipelines and establishing data connections.
  • 4-6 years of experience in creating data pipelines for data transfer through Splunk.
  • 4-6 years of experience developing integrations between Splunk, DbConnect, and Xacta.
  • 3 years of experience with ETL coding using Python.
  • 3 years of experience in documenting interface designs in a common format.
  • 3 years of experience in creating process documentation.
  • 3 years of experience with obtaining an Authority To Operate (ATO).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with the following skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • In-depth knowledge of Cyber Security Risk Assessment and governance.
  • Exceptional expertise in Splunk and Xacta.IO products.
  • Extensive experience with Python programming.
  • Strong technical writing abilities.
