Key Responsibilities- Provide timely and courteous service to all patients seeking care.
- Participate in strategic planning for the service and attend clinical and administrative staff meetings as required.
- Collaborate with other physicians to ensure proper education of medical students and residents.
- Maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME), State Medical License, and VA mandatory training prior to expiration.
- Maintain moderate sedation privileges and certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible.
