Position Overview

HCSC is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist to contribute to our esteemed Blood Bank operations. As a vital part of our community-focused organization, you will play a crucial role in providing essential laboratory services to various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive red cell antibody identification and resolution, antigen typing, and hemoglobin S testing.
  • Manage the procurement of special and rare blood units, along with platelet antibody screening and cross-matching procedures.
  • Deliver detailed reports and expert consultation regarding transfusion recommendations to partner hospitals.
  • Oversee quality control measures, maintain laboratory equipment, and participate in training and validation of assays.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively, work autonomously, and utilize office and communication technology proficiently.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time position with hours from Monday to Friday, 10 PM to 6 AM. On-call duties for holidays are minimal.

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in clinical, biological, physical, or chemical laboratory science is required. An Associate's Degree with MLT certification may be considered with relevant experience.
  • Preferred certifications include MLS, BB, or SBB.

Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Blood Bank operations, specifically in ABO typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching.
