We are seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join our California team and support our project work primarily based out of our Monterey office. As a senior-level professional, you will be responsible for managing and providing technical oversight to multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously. Your role will involve interacting with M&A team leaders, project staff, project managers, administrative personnel, clients, and regulators.

Job Responsibilities:

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and technically contributing to tasks and projects focusing on quantitative hydrogeology and groundwater resources management;
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of SGMA programs;
  • Designing and interpreting results of predictive modeling runs and supporting model updates;
  • Developing hydrogeologic conceptual models and water budgets;
  • Designing monitoring networks and collaborating with field teams to implement monitoring programs;
  • Meeting with regulatory agencies and water agencies;
  • Data evaluations and preparation of technical reports;
  • Senior review of technical reports;
  • Supporting the Program Manager and Task Managers in evaluating level of effort and scope of work related to new technical efforts;
  • DIRECTING, TRAINING, AND MENTORING JUNIOR STAFF;
  • Interacting with and managing relationships with clients and other project stakeholders, including regulatory agencies;
  • Preparing technical proposals and work plans for future work;
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in hydrology, geology, or engineering; a graduate degree is preferred;
  • A clear understanding of how to apply hydrogeologic principles to characterize and assess groundwater systems;
  • An understanding of California water laws and regulations, preferably;
  • Ten or more years of experience in environmental and water resources consulting;
  • Professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) is preferred;
  • Professional experience working with groundwater models is preferred;
  • Experience working on SGMA projects for local Groundwater Sustainability Agencies is preferred;
  • Task or project management experience;
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills and ability to present technical information in group/meeting settings;
  • Proficiency with standard analytical approaches and tools;
  • Interest in engaging in professional organizations, including presenting at conferences;
  • A current and valid California driver's license;
  • The ability to legally work and reside in the United States.

This is a full-time position with a $122,000 - $151,000 estimated annualized compensation, including bonuses, and monthly base pay range of $9,000 - $11,250.
