As a Senior Hydrogeologist with Montgomery & Associates, you will play a key role in our California team's project work, primarily based out of our Monterey office. We are seeking a full-time senior hydrogeologist to manage and provide technical oversight to multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously.

About the Role

This position includes senior-level responsibilities, requiring the ability to interact with M&A team leaders, project staff, project managers, administrative personnel, clients, and regulators. Our company, headquartered in Tucson, AZ, has been in business since 1984 and is growing, with recent expansions in the western U.S. and South America.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and technically contribute to tasks and projects that focus on quantitative hydrogeology and groundwater resources management, including supporting SGMA projects planning and implementation.
  • Design and interpret results of predictive modeling runs and support model updates, develop hydrogeologic conceptual models and water budgets, design monitoring networks, and interact with field teams to implement monitoring programs.
  • Meet with regulatory agencies and water agencies, conduct data evaluations, and prepare technical reports for review by senior professionals.
  • Support Program Manager and Task Managers in evaluating level of effort and scope of work related to new technical efforts, direct, train, and mentor junior staff, and interact with and manage relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced hydrogeologist with a strong understanding of how to apply hydrogeologic principles to characterize and assess groundwater systems. A bachelor's degree in hydrology, geology, or engineering is required, with a graduate degree preferred. Ten or more years of experience in environmental and water resources consulting is necessary, along with professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) and proficiency with standard analytical approaches and tools.

The estimated annualized compensation for this role, including bonuses, is $122,000 - $151,000. Compensation for qualified extra hours could further increase the estimate above.
