We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor to join our Educator Preparation department at North Carolina A&T State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, developing curriculum, and engaging in scholarly research and service.
Key Responsibilities- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in the Educator Preparation Program, including online, hybrid, and traditional face-to-face formats.
- Develop and implement new curriculum and modify existing courses to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Engage in scholarly research and publication, including maintaining an active research agenda, procuring extramural funding, and presenting at conferences.
- Provide service to the department and university, including accreditation procedures, program assessment, and advising and mentoring students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and research skills.
- Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or related field from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and developing curriculum for graduate and undergraduate students.
- Experience in scholarly research and publication, including maintaining an active research agenda and procuring extramural funding.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and to assume leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels.
- Three years of teaching experience in the K-12 levels.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing pre-service teachers to integrate technology into instruction for K-12 settings.
- Experience or knowledge of CAEP or related accrediting bodies.
- Knowledge of and experience with edTPA.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity commensurate with an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
- Ability to assume leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels.
This is a 9-month tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be expected to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of the university.
